Srinagar: Reports said the decision was taken at the MHA level and was implemented by the Raj Bhawan. The factors that led to his removal are not known.
“Pursuant to communication No. 15030/40/2019/J&K dated 4th October 2020, of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, Shri Baseer Ahmad Khan (Retired IAS:2000) is hereby relieved from the post of Adviser to the Lieutenant Governor, Union Territory of Jammu Kashmir, with immediate effect,” the order issued by the Raj Bhawan said.
His removal from the post came all of a sudden and the reasons behind it were not immediately known.
Khan was made an advisor in March last year when GC Murmu was the Lt Governor, and he continued in the post under Murmu’s successor Manoj Sinha.
