Amit Shah to visit J&K on Oct 1, 2

Jammu: The Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Jammu and Kashmir for two days between Oct. 1 and 2. During his trip he is expected to announce reservations for the Pahari people, BJP sources said on Friday.

According to sources from the party, Shah will address a public rally in Rajouri on the 1st of October in the Jammu division as well as in the Kupwara district of the Kashmir division on the 2nd of October.

“He will make reservations for Pahari spoken community, whose substantial number of people live in the Poonch, Rajouri districts of the Jammu division as well as Baramulla district in the Valley.

“Shah will kickstart the BJP election campaign in J&K during his forthcoming visit,” BJP sources claimed.

The commission for delimitation has already set aside seats for ST as well as SC within the 90-member J&K assembly, with 9 seats for the ST and six seats for SC candidates.

It is anticipated that after Shah begins his BJP Assembly election campaign in J&K the elections will not be held this year due to various reasons.

The commission for elections has set November 25 to announce the release of the final voter lists. There are only 36 days until the closing date of the year.

Nomination papers are filed as well as their examination and the time for the poll campaign as well as the time frame for campaigning. They clearly demonstrate that, given the brutal winter in J&K which begins in at the end of December most recent J&K elections are scheduled to be held between April and May 2023.
