Former DG and retired Judge appointed as members of Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has appointed Tariq Ahmad Khan, former director general of the Planning department, and Sanjeev Gupta, retired district and sessions judge, as members of Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission.

In a notification, the General Administration Department said that the LG has appointed Tariq Ahmad Khan, director general (expenditure division), Planning and Sanjeev Gupta, District and Session Judge as members of Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission.

Khan is a gold medalist from Kashmir University and has an extensive career of 36 years, during which he held key positions in the Health and Medical Education Department, Planning Development & Monitoring Department, Public Works Department, Power Dev Development, and Finance Department.

He played a significant role in the infrastructure development of Jammu & Kashmir and was conferred with the UT award for meritorious public services in 2020.

Gupta, who served as a district and sessions judge before his appointment to JKPSC, brings a wealth of legal expertise to the commission. Both Khan and Gupta’s appointments to JKPSC are expected to strengthen the commission’s ability to fulfill its mandate in Jammu and Kashmir.
