Tragedy struck in Srinagar on Thursday evening as a mother of two children lost her life in a road accident. The family alleges that a vehicle belonging to the security forces collided with the Scooty, resulting in the death of Akifa Imtiyaz.

According to the family, the incident occurred near Abdullah Bridge in Raj Bagh, Srinagar, and they suspect that the vehicle involved was from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

However, news agency, Kashmir Scroll, reports that it was an SSB (Sashastra Seema Bal) vehicle that collided with the woman riding the Scooty. Akifa Imtiyaz, who was the pillion rider, tragically lost her life on the spot. The Scooty was being driven by the deceased’s son, and the family is from Chapanpora in Srinagar.

The police have taken note of the incident and have registered a case under the relevant sections of the law. Investigations will be carried out to determine the exact circumstances and responsibility for the accident.
