Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST), Awantipora, Kashmir will close the application process for the engagement of contractual Assistant Professors in the departments of Actuarial Mathematics and Urdu on April 15, 2024. These appointments will be made purely on academic arrangement basis and will continue until December 2025 or until the post is filled on a permanent basis, whichever is earlier.
As per the official notice, the engagement is for teaching, research, and other academic responsibilities. Candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria as per UGC Regulations, including postgraduate qualifications with NET or Ph.D. as applicable. The emoluments range from ₹45,000 to ₹50,000 per month based on qualifications. Selection will be made through interview only.

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualifications:
Master’s degree with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC non-creamy layer) or equivalent grade in relevant subject.
AND
Candidate must have cleared NET/SLET/SET or possess a Ph.D. degree as per UGC regulations (2009/2016) or have a Ph.D. from top 500 globally ranked foreign universities (QS, THE, ARWU).
NET/SLET/SET not required if not conducted for the relevant discipline.
Salary (per month): For candidates having;
Postgraduate Degree (excluding Architecture): ₹45,000 per month
With NET/SET/GATE: ₹48,000 per month
With Ph.D.: ₹50,000 per month
With both NET/SET/GATE and Ph.D.: ₹50,000 per month

Selection Process:
The selection of candidates will be based solely on an interview.
Shortlisting will be done as per UGC Regulations 2018. A maximum of 20 candidates will be shortlisted for one post, and five more for each additional post. Final selection will be interview-based only.
