In the Kadalbal Pampore region of South Kashmir, the police on Thursday filed a charge sheet in court against a murder suspect who is accused of choking his brother’s wife to death after she resisted his sexual assault.
After a three-month investigation, the Awantipora police delivered the charge sheet. Following the murder of Rozy Jan, the wife of Muzaffar Ahmed Ganaie, the police filed an FIR (First Information Report) with the number 5/23 and designated SDPO Imtiyaz Ahmed Mir as the investigating officer in charge of the case.
Altaf Ganie, the victim’s brother-in-law, is accused of killing her after she resisted his sexual attack. The investigating officer gathered all relevant information, including oral, written, circumstantial, medical, and technical evidence, and within the legally required 90 days, the accused was charged.
The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Awantipora, meantime, thanked everyone who helped the police and gave objective testimony.
Imtiyaz Ahmed SDPO Pampore, the investigating officer, was also appreciated for finishing the case inquiry in a timely manner.
