NC Will Join Hands With BJP, Reiterates Sajad Lone

Sajad Gani Lone Criticizes National Conference's Potential Alliance with BJP for Elections

The President of the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference, Sajad Gani Lone, said on Wednesday, that the National Conference (NC) would not hesitate to compromise the identity and dignity of Kashmiris for the sake of elections.

Lone mentioned that the NC, if assembly elections were held, would be the first party to approach the BJP with a submissive attitude, compromising the respect and identity of Kashmiris. He highlighted the NC’s past alliances with the BJP and suggested that they would repeat such alliances in the future due to their own constraints and pressures stemming from serious legal cases against the party’s leaders.

During a gathering in Trehgam Constituency, Sajad Gani Lone emphasized his party’s commitment to bring a fresh perspective to governance and leadership.

“Our focus is on prioritizing the welfare of the people over political interests. Our policies are centered around the well-being of the people,” he stated.

Lone also stressed the need to address the challenges faced by contractors in Jammu and Kashmir. He revealed his intention to write to the Prime Minister and Home Minister, urging them to resolve the problems related to the verification process carried out by the CID for contractors.

He argued that the previous administrations in Jammu and Kashmir had engaged in a period of revenge, where many individuals labeled as “overground workers” (OGWs) were actually political workers of opposition parties. He advocated against punishing individuals based on their political beliefs and questioned the fairness of holding fathers or sons accountable for the actions of their family members.

“It is not justifiable anywhere in the world to punish individuals for the deeds of their family members. The Prime Minister and Home Minister should closely examine the issues faced by contractors and ordinary people. Such practices contradict the principles of natural justice and individual rights and should not be upheld in a democratic society,” he concluded.
