PHE Employee Arrested for Raping Woman Posing as Tantrik in J&K

In Samba district, a PHE employee has been arrested for allegedly raping a middle-aged woman while posing as a Tantrik.

According to a senior police officer, the accused induced the victim to visit his house on the pretext of healing her skin disease with tantra-mantra, charnamrit, and vibhuti.

The victim filed an application before the court of CJM Samba, alleging that the accused had committed rape on her by posing as a tantrik with supernatural healing powers.

After conducting a preliminary inquiry, the court directed the police to register a rape case FIR under section 376 IPC at Police Station Ramgarh.

The accused, identified as Subash Chander, an employee (Fitter) of PHE department, was arrested by a police team comprising of SHO police station Ramgarh Sudesh Kumar and PSI Vikrant Kotwal under the supervision of Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary. The investigation is ongoing.
