Jammu and Kashmir experienced rainfall, with the weatherman predicting more precipitation until June 17.
According to a meteorological department official cited by GNS, the following rainfall measurements were recorded in the last 24 hours until 8:30 am today: Srinagar received 11.2mm, Qazigund 1.8mm, Pahalgam 23.4mm, Kupwara 1.4mm, Kokernag 1.3mm, Gulmarg 4.6mm, Jammu traces, Banihal 0.2mm, and Katra 41.6mm.
The official also provided a forecast, stating that there would be a brief spell of rain and thunderstorms at scattered places during the afternoon and evening today.
From June 15-17, there is a likelihood of light to moderate rain and thunderstorms at scattered places in Jammu and Kashmir. Some areas in the Jammu region, such as Poonch, Rajouri, Reasi, and Samba, have a 60% chance of experiencing moderate to heavy thundershowers during the 15th and 16th.
The official emphasized that the weather conditions are not favorable for orchard spraying for the next 4-5 days.
In terms of temperatures, the official provided the following details: Srinagar recorded a low of 15.2°C (0.9°C above normal), Qazigund recorded a low of 15.0°C (2.1°C above normal), Pahalgam recorded a low of 9.8°C (1.6°C above normal), Kupwara recorded a low of 15.2°C (2.6°C above normal), Kokernag recorded a low of 13.8°C (1.7°C above normal), Gulmarg recorded a low of 7.5°C (1.4°C below normal), Jammu recorded a low of 25.9°C (0.2°C above normal), Banihal recorded a low of 15.1°C (0.2°C above normal), Batote recorded a low of 17.2°C (1.3°C above normal), Katra recorded a low of 18.2°C (3.9°C below normal), Bhaderwah recorded a low of 11.9°C (1.6°C below normal), Leh recorded a low of 7.2°C, and Kargil recorded a low of 12.5°C.
