Ruling BJP loses by-election in Ladakh, Congress wins

Ladakh Sept 17: The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) was defeated by Congress by a wide victory in the by-election that took place in Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh.

According to the latest information, Tashi Tundup, a Congress Candidate has defeated Dorjay Namgayal from BJP with 273 votes, in the Temisgam district from LAHDC, Leh.

The Congress candidate received 861 votes and the BJP’s candidate scored 588 votes. The Congress high command was gratified by its Leh unit for its victory and took pot shots at Ghulam Nabi Azad.

“Here are some news breaking regarding Modi, Shah, and Azad. Congress Party has defeated the BJP by a convincing margin in the Temisgam bye-election to the Ladakh Hill Council. Congratulations to the Ladakh District Congress Committee!,” Jairam Ramesh tweeted.
