Spices Board Walk-In for Research Trainee Posts in Karnataka on 1 May for SC/ST Candidates

Spices Board of India has issued a notification inviting eligible candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories to apply for the position of Spices Research Trainees. These posts are available at the Indian Cardamom Research Institute (ICRI), Regional Station in Sakleshpur, Karnataka.

As per the notification released by Spices Board, there are a total of 3 vacancies across three different disciplines—Agronomy/Soil Science, Plant Pathology, and Entomology. Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹21,000 and the training period will extend up to two years, initially for one year and extendable based on performance review.

Eligibility Criteria:

For Agronomy/Soil Science, candidates must have M.Sc. in Agriculture (Agronomy or Soil Science), or M.Sc. in Horticulture (Spices, Plantation and Aromatic Crops), or M.Sc. in Chemistry/Biochemistry. For Plant Pathology, candidates must possess M.Sc. in Agriculture/Horticulture (Plant Pathology or Microbiology), or M.Sc. in Botany or Microbiology. For Entomology, M.Sc. in Agriculture/Horticulture (Entomology/Apiculture/Nematology), or M.Sc. in Zoology is required.

Candidates should have working knowledge in computers and prior experience in the relevant research area is desirable. The upper age limit is 30 years as on the date of the walk-in test i.e. 01 May 2025.

How to Apply:
There is no application form to be submitted in advance. Interested candidates must directly attend the walk-in test on the scheduled date.

Selection Process:
The selection will be done through an objective-type walk-in test based on the relevant subject and followed by a practical computer skill assessment. Final merit list will be prepared based on performance in both tests. The validity of the selection list will be two years.
